Campbell Ramblings

I've been trying to make notes about all the funny things Campbell says.. Only problem is, I don't write the entire story down. I've just been writing the subject down and now I can't remember the whole story behind them all.. Hopefully I'll just come back here and blog about them.

- "this little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home, this little piggy had rosemary"

-"the farmer in the dell, the farmer takes a wipe"

-"ba ba black sheep have you any wolf... One for my pastor"

-he calls side walk chalk "pork chop" bebe told him to go color on the porch with chalk.. He got pork chop out of that..

-" I don't want to go to heaven tomorrow, I wanna go to BeBe's house to play"

"Fwippin Cows"

I'll start from the beginning and get to the title of this post later... As I previously mentioned we are setting up farm at Casa Callaway.. I also planted a garden.. A garden that I worked very hard in and I was very proud of.. I had beautiful, lush, green cabbage, lettuces, kale, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers, onions, asparagus, and beets.... Just to name a few.... The neighbors cows escaped from their own lush. green. pasture.. (Mind you, our closest neighbor is a half a mile away).. Apparently they figured out my garden was a little tastier. I guess the grass is sometimes greener on the other side. I pulled up to the house one beautiful Monday afternoon and noticed my strawberry pots were turned over.. Walked out to the garden and started saying a few things under my breath (only because I had two sets of little ears around).. Campbell asks " mom, what happened to your garden?" I chose my words wisely and said "a flippin cow ate my garden!" That was all she wrote.. From then on, Campbell told everybody, "a fwippin cow ate mommy's garden".. Thank goodness I chose my words wisely.. Because flippin isn't exactly what I was thinking... I was sick, mad, sad.. You name it.. After I had calmed down a bit, Campbell laid his head in my lap and said "it's ok mom, I still love you!" Can I not just freeze him right where he is!? He's getting too big too fast! So, there you have it.. A fwippin cow ate my garden! What'd I do? Put my big girl panties on and started all over.. These pics are after the cows ambushed it.. Anyone wanna go cow tippin'?

Boys...

I'm updating from my phone so the pics may not be great... These are a few pics of Campbell and his best buddy Nash.. They started out flying kites. Before it was over they were in their skivvies jumping in the pond. You couldn't do that if you lived in a neighborhood in town. Have I told you I LOVE raising my kids and living in the country?? I can't imagine life any other way.. And I don't want to!

Setting up Farm...

Never in a million years did I think I would walk outside and say to the kids.. "the chickens are out!"... We've been discussing getting chickens for awhile now. Little did I know, our Saturday morning trip to the co-op would conclude with a box of full of 12 chickens! Everything that I've read says start out with 2-4.. We like to go big or go home.. Campbell loves them. Swayze tries to stomp them... Not. Good. So far, she hasn't succeeded. Right now, these little boogers are in a big bucket in my laundry room. They're learning to use their wings and get out of this bucket as I type. I'm hoping to get a coop for them next week. I just haven't found one to house 12 chickens!! I've seen coops for up to 220 birds and coops for 4 birds.. Where's the middle?? We also have 12 duck eggs in an incubator. At one point, I only thought 1 out of 22 would hatch. After a little more research, looks like we will have 12! When we purchased the chickens we also purchased 10 ducks.. So, 12 chickens and 22 ducks... I. might. be. losing. my. mind. Honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love life in the country. The kids love it too! Next on my list is a fainting goat and a little pink pig..
